1. Do you have any recommendations for child seats for my Subaru?
Because there are so many child seats on the market today, we feel that it is best that you contact one of these organizations for assistance -- National SAFEKIDS Campaign at 800-441-1888 or SafetyBeltSafe USA at 800-745-7233.

The Service Manager at Subaru dealerships should have instructions available for installation of child car seats for our vehicles. You may wish to set up an appointment with your Service Manager, who can assist you in trying to fit your child seat to your Subaru. If you would like to discuss this further, you may contact us directly at 1-800-782-2783 or go to our Contact Subaru section of www.Subaru.com.

2. How can I find out more about child safety seat anchorage systems?
Since offering our 1985 models, Subaru has equipped our vehicles with tether anchor points. To inquire about ordering a tether anchor kit for your Subaru, contact your Subaru dealer. With all new 2000 model year Subaru vehicles, tether anchors were included with the car. Our 2001 Legacy and Outback models include the new LATCH system. All 2002 Impreza models include the LATCH system, as well as all 2003 Forester and Baja models include the LATCH system. Unfortunately, there is no retro-fit kit available for vehicles prior to these model years.

For more information about LATCH systems, please go to www.Drive.Subaru.com. On-Line Exclusives, "Information on the LATCH System" shown in the Drive Magazine Fall 2002 issue.

You can also refer to the National Highway Traffic and Safety Administration (NHTSA) Web site's (www.nhtsa.dot.gov) and enter "FAQ" in the Search Section. You will be able to locate and link to their Frequently Asked Questions on LATCH.

3. Can I tow a Subaru behind my motorhome?
AWD Subaru vehicles with manual transmissions can be towed with all four wheels on the ground and the transmission in neutral. STI vehicles with 6 Speed Manual Transmissions can also be towed with all four wheels on the ground and the transmission in neutral. In addition, STI vehicles with 6 Speed Manual Transmissions require that the Driver's Control Center Differential (DCCD) is set in manual mode and the DCCD control dial set to the furthest rearward position.

Please refer to your owner's manual for additional important information on towing vehicles with all four wheels on the ground.

AWD Subaru vehicles with automatic transmission can only be towed with all four wheels OFF of the ground. Therefore, if you are interested in towing a Subaru behind your motorhome, we would suggest purchasing a manual transmission Subaru.
